Elle Fanning’s Riveting LIKENESS Video Exposes Bulimia

Women and girls have been turning to eating disorders for years to make them feel better about themselves, but why? And why is it not being discussed? This new short movie exposes an artistic view of women and girls while in the midst of the disease.

ELLE Magazine says:
"It used to be taboo to discuss eating disorders, but at this point barely a week goes by without a celebrity opening up about his or her struggle with anorexia or bulimia. Though it’s always upsetting to read about these struggles, I confess to becoming somewhat inured to the eating disorder narrative after years of lady blogging. Which makes this new short film, Likeness directed by Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rodrigro Prieto, even more special: It broke through my mental complacency about eating disorders and negative body image because it is truly disturbing.”

About the movie:
"The directorial debut of Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, "LIKENESS" is a personal meditation on eating disorders created by Prieto and his daughter. "LIKENESS" stars Elle Fanning as a girl struggling with self-perception, and challenges us to consider the role of society in presenting an idealized image of the female body.
