Jessica Simpson's Weight Loss Failures and Successes

There are so many roads to weight loss. Permanent or otherwise, weight gain can creep up on you while weight loss can come at the most unexpected times. Some people handle stress with food and some just don't have that need to eat. Jessica Simpson a recent new mom and weight loss achiever of over 60 pounds was caught showing off her new body during this year's Halloween season.

Kudos to you Jessica Simpson for beating that rough road that so many women struggle through after having a baby. Many women find themselves in a place of desperation after their once beautiful body becomes stretched and tired. Many women don't find the strength or the desire to move forward into something better, weight loss takes work and people who tell you otherwise are not dealing with the underlying problems.

Here is an example of Jessica Simpson's daily regimen (per the Examiner) that has caught the media's eye:

Her daily weight-loss diet and workout program typically consists of the following:

7 a.m. - Jessica wakes up and feeds Maxwell, then has breakfast: half a flat-bread sandwich with egg whites, peppers and fat-free cheddar

8 a.m. - Simpson walks up to an hour a day, trying to get at least 14,000 steps on her pedometer. Afterward: a snack of berries, bananas, melon or grapefruit.

11 a.m. - Four days a week, Simpson works out for 45 minutes with a trainer doing a combination of cardio and circuit-training exercises such as dumbbell triceps extensions, hamstring curls and crunches with a medicine ball.

1 p.m. - Jessica eats lunch of spinach salad with 4 ounces of chicken satay and pear.

2 p.m. Simpson walks again outside or on the treadmill, then has a berry smoothie.

6:30 p.m. Dinner of fish (4 ounces of halibut or tilapia) with roasted eggplant, broccoli or asparagus. Low-fat ice cream for dessert.

10 p.m. Bedtime.

The media is so hard on movie stars and women in general, high expectations of always being beautiful and catching them at that glorious moment when they let their hair down must really be stressful. But just like the normal everyday Joe's life, weight loss takes discipline. Including mental discipline, deciding what and what you do not want to have in your life and in your thoughts can help you succeed and push through to your goals.

"I have to separate myself from the world's expectations," she said, "I have to look inside myself. I'm not a supermodel...I just wanna be a better version of myself." - Jessica Simpson -

This version of the seven-layer salad is cool and creamy and crunchy and chewy. Sometimes I make my molded salads with vegetables, but I decided to make this one chock-full of sweet, yummy fruit. And what a wise decision it was.

Ingredients

2 packages (0.3 ounces each) regular or sugar-free lemon gelatin
2 cups boiling water, plus 1 ½ cups cold
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons raisins
1 banana, peeled and sliced
2 tablespoons chopped dried apricots
1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, drained well
1 cup cottage cheese

Directions:
In a medium heatproof bowl, mix the gelatin with the boiling water until completely dissolved. Stir in the cold water and lemon juice. Refrigerate, covered, until the gelatin is just wiggly but not firmed up (like loose jelly), about 1 hour.

Spoon ½ cup of the gelatin into a 6-cup mold. Arrange the orange segments over the top and cover with another ½ cup gelatin. Scatter the walnuts and raisins on top and cover with another ½ cup gelatin. Next, layer the banana and apricots on top of the gelatin.

In a small bowl, fold 1 cup of the gelatin into the crushed pineapple and spoon evenly over the banana layer. Fold the cottage cheese into the remaining 1 cup gelatin and spoon over the pineapple layer. Refrigerate until firm, about 4 hours or overnight. Unmold and serve.
Serves 8

Snooki’s Amazing 42 Pound After Pregnancy Weight Loss

Most know Snooki from her outrageous and exciting TV series Jersey Shore. This 25-year-old TV star began her career, got married, got pregnant, gained weight (like most women do), had the baby, and then lost 42 pounds.
Source: Tumblr

That’s amazing, her success rivets throughout the media community, and in return will help to encourage women all over to find the motivation to lose that after-baby weight.

In a recent interview with USA Today, Snooki explained that from August of 2012 until March 2013 she has lost 42 pounds of her baby weight. And the best part is, she explained that "I lost it for me. But I also wanted (fiance) Jionni (LaValle) to know that I can be hot as a mom.”

More about Snooki:

Early and personal life (Excerpt, 2021 Wikipedia)
"Snooki was born in Santiago, Chile.  She was adopted when she was six months old and was raised by Italian-American parents, Andy and Helen Polizzi. Snooki has taken two DNA tests to determine her genetic background. In 2014, the first DNA test stated her genetic background is: Romani, Iberian, South Asian, East Asian, Middle Eastern, and Jewish with roots in North-Western Croatia, Macedonia, Slovakia, Russia, and Spain.

She was surprised to learn that while born in Chile, she is not genetically Chilean. Five years later, in January 2019, she took another DNA test, this time with 23andMe which stated that she was 59.5% Native Chilean and 31.2% European (mostly Iberian with distant British and Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry). Snooki's father is a volunteer firefighter and auto-salvage supervisor, and her mother is an office manager. Snooki lives in Florham Park, New Jersey."

There is nothing wrong with being a hot mom, just because a woman has a baby and doesn’t sleep and her body has been changing, does not mean that she should just give up. In fact, most women feel better (even when they are wiped out tired) if they get at least 15 minutes of exercise.

Short walks outside, in the mall, going to the gym or just doing a workout tape in your living room can help to improve your attitude and keep from those depressing I am fat feelings coming on. xoJane reported that Snooki wants to have a total of four kids. And even though the first one caused her to have a little mommy pouch and a few stretch marks, she will keep going. Heck, they have surgery to fix all of that stuff. Women do it every day.

E- reports that:
Once she has stopped having kids, Snooki said her first order of business will be breast implants. "I’ve always wanted a boob job because I have big boobs, but when I take the bra off, they sag. I hate that," she said. "Everyone's telling me to get them done after I have my kids. So I'm going to pop 'em out and then get a boob job. I love Jenni's [fake] boobs, and I want boobs like that.”

Christina Aguilera’s Exceptional Weight Loss

We all know Christina Aguilera has been going through some changes. And why not, everyone’s body changes throughout their lives, the only difference is that we (us non-celebrities) do not have media searching us down wanting to know our story. Why did you gain weight? How much? When are you planning to lose it?

Per an interview with Style Craze Magazine, here is an example of her daily menu (YUM!):
  • Breakfast: Bacon, blueberries, and avocado.
  • Lunch: Chicken salad with tofu, spinach, kale, squash, pickles, bell peppers, green beans, carrots, and beans.
  • Dinner: Chicken/fish/ chickpeas with rice, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, cauliflower, eggplant, and carrots.
  • Snacks: Celery with nut butter and a shrimp cocktail.

Seriously that alone would give almost anyone a nervous breakdown or a good reason to dye your hair and escape to a deserted island for a year or more. But if we can find inspiration in others, why not make it a celebrity?

Per AOL.com's article "How Christina Aguilera Stayed Fit and Fabulous in 2014":
"Christina Aguilera is "as happy as can be, as fit as can be and as full of life as can be. She looks amazing," The Voice producer Mark Burnett told Life & Style magazine at a Sept. 20 event. The magazine is giving a glimpse into Christina's diet - and you'll be shocked at what she is and isn't eating and drinking!"

Life & Style is breaking down Christina's balanced diet. In addition to limiting alcohol, Christina now avoids unhealthy favorites like Nate 'n Al's restaurant, a place with everything from chocolate chip pancakes to corned beef.

For breakfast, Christina starts with blueberries, half an avocado, and turkey bacon, an ideal combo of healthy fats and protein.

For a snack, she relies on celery with almond butter. For lunch she goes lean, eating chicken breast over a veggie-filled salad. No creamy dressings!

Christina also loves shrimp cocktails as a healthy snack. For dinner, she loves chicken or fish curry and splurges with a glass of wine!

"Christina is refreshed and rejuvenated this season. She's really looking after herself and seems genuinely happy inside - and it shows, " a Voice insider told Life & Style." - Excerpt AOL.com -

POP Sugar's article on Christina states that:

"It's All About Confidence
Her biggest healthy secret: body confidence, no matter what her size. "I've been through my highs; I've been through my lows; I've been through the gamut of all things in this business," she's said in Marie Claire. "Being too thin. Being bigger. I've been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It's the noise I block out automatically. I love my body." At her post-baby red carpet debut in early November, Christina wowed with a body-hugging red dress that showed exactly that."

How Jessica Simpson Lost 60 pounds! Remaining Body Positive!

Jessica Simpson loses 60 pounds! Wow! What an accomplishment!  Jessica Simpson, also a recent Weight Watchers celebrity spokesperson, gives much of her weight loss credit to following the Weight Watchers program.

Also, recent claims from EXTRA on Nov 26th, stated that she may have had a little extra help that included a specialized dietician chef (well we all need one of those) and diet smoothies. Unsure exactly what a diet smoothie is, although both of those sound reasonable for someone who is on a weight loss program.

Celebrity gossiper's TMZ got their fingers on a few documents that showed that Jessica helped to restore her pre-baby body with the use of a 15-day smoothie diet for 15 days prior to using Weight Watchers-approved snacks and meals. Go, Jessica, 15 days of smoothies, that's a challenge within itself.

How Jessica Simpson lost 60 glorious pounds?
  • gourmet smoothies, snacks and meals
  • calculating the Weight Watcher points
  • a personal chef that worked within her dietary guideline
  • she jump-started her diet with three smoothies daily with two small snacks
  • then moved onto two smoothies daily with two small snacks and one meal
  • and finally, two snacks, two meals, and one smoothie daily reported Wet Paint on Nov. 26
  • Jessica also hired one of Hollywood's most famous celebrity personal trainers, Harley Pasternak
All of these incredible factors helped Jessica move forward with her weight loss goals. Kudos Jessica for the hard work, may we all one day have the same support to accomplish our goals!
